My Healing Journey

Adrián Orozco Blair

I'm delighted to share some of my healing and awakening to being a healer journey.

My journey began in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I grew up as the older brother in a loving home, with a fair share of trauma, with my parents who fought too much and divorced when I was 4. Early on, my parents introduced us to New Age metaphysics through stories of a loving God-Goddess-All-That-Is that exists in everything and that all life is on a path to find its way home. At 13, I became immersed in the world of tennis. Despite showing great promise in training, I struggled to replicate that success in competitions, grappling with anxiety, perfectionism, and a deep sense of shame. This disconnect led me to question the roots of my suffering.

At 17, my mother's undiagnosed illness—later identified as ALS—placed immense emotional pressure on me. Seeking understanding, I found support through the teachings of the New Age spiritual teacher Lazaris. Through this guidance, I realized I was carrying a "savior identity," feeling responsible for my parents' divorce when I was four and striving to be perfect to make others happy—from my tennis opponents to my ailing mother. This awareness allowed me to release a significant weight, making sense of why in the world I experienced so much pressure. This same process ignited a passion to dedicate my life to healing. I left competitive tennis behind and embraced an opportunity to study healing in the United States.

Arriving in the United States in 2010, I faced personal battles with depression, numbness, intense self-criticism, and self-neglect, despite my spiritual connection and deep appreciation for Lazaris's teachings. I realized my depression lingered due to a frozen, numb relationship with my emotions. During one of the darkest periods of my life, I received a profound message: to reclaim my vitality, I needed to awaken to my emotions.

Traditional talk therapy didn't reach the depths I needed, so I ventured into the world of art. There, I discovered drama therapy, playback theater, and eventually somatics. The freedom of imagination and the adventure of embodying different roles awakened my emotions. These modalities reconnected me with myself, helped me heal from depression, and provided a deeper sense of freedom than I had ever known.

Driven by this transformative experience, I pursued becoming a licensed psychotherapist, delving deeper into drama therapy and somatics. This journey enriched my professional life and helped me become more present, alive, and free in my personal life. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings—from facilitating drama therapy with inmates at San Quentin Prison to serving as an expressive arts therapist at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, and maintaining a private practice at the Living Arts Counseling Center.

Today, I'm honored to facilitate individual, relational, and collective healing through tools like meditation, relational attunement, drama therapy, and playback theater. My mission is to foster resilience, help others release old patterns, digest the frozen past, and live more peaceful, vibrant, and loving lives.

I draw inspiration from teachers like Thomas Hübl, Miranda Macpherson, the teachings of Hridaya Yoga, the channeled entity Lazaris, and the wisdom found in various mystic traditions and sacred texts. Committed to offering healing and awakening to a global community, I guide individual sessions, meditations, and workshops, aiming to inspire others to develop their resilience and connect with their inner light.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to sharing more stories, insights, and practices with you.

With peace, love, and light.
